LMIA approved. This employer is approved to hire a foreign worker into this role, which is what lets a work permit be issued for it. It does not by itself make you eligible.

About this role

Tillicum Machine Shop runs a staff canteen for its machining crew in Albanel, and we are adding a supervisor to run it day to day. The canteen serves breakfast and lunch to our own people, so the pace is steady and the customers are the same faces every shift.

You will open the kitchen, set up the line, and keep service moving through the two meal breaks. Most of the day is spent on the floor with the crew, checking that food is hot and stocked, helping where the line backs up, and closing out the till and the daily order sheet at the end of the shift.

What you'll be doing

  • Supervision. Lead a small kitchen crew of three to four, set the daily task list and cover absences.
  • Service. Keep the counter stocked and moving through breakfast and lunch breaks so our crew is served on time.
  • Food safety. Hold temperature logs, date labelling and cleaning schedules to the standards set out in Quebec's food safety rules.
  • Ordering. Count stock, place the weekly supplier order and receive deliveries against the invoice.

What they're asking for

  • Certification. Food handler certification recognized in Quebec, or willingness to complete it within the first month.
  • Experience. None required; we will train the right person on our menu and our line.
  • Language. Functional English for the crew and suppliers; French is an asset in Albanel.
  • Availability. Able to start at 5:30 a.m. and work a full shift on your feet.

What the employer offers

  • Meals. One meal per shift at no cost.
  • Gear. Aprons, non-slip shoes and a knife kit supplied.
  • Leave. Two weeks of paid vacation in the first year, plus paid statutory holidays.
