LMIA approved. This employer is approved to hire a foreign worker into this role, which is what lets a work permit be issued for it. It does not by itself make you eligible.

About this role

Shawinigan Mécanique Mobile is a mobile mechanical repair shop serving heavy trucks and equipment across the Beauce region. The shop is adding a call centre agent to handle incoming calls from drivers and fleet customers who need roadside service, scheduled repairs or parts information.

A typical day is spent at a desk answering the phone, logging each call in the dispatch system and passing the details to the mechanics and the dispatcher. You confirm appointment times, follow up on open work orders and keep customers informed when a truck is delayed. The pace picks up in winter and during harvest, so you need to stay organized when several calls come in at once.

What you'll be doing

  • Call handling. Answer incoming calls from drivers and fleet customers and route each one to the right person.
  • Dispatch logging. Enter customer details, vehicle information and service requests into the dispatch system.
  • Appointment follow-up. Confirm scheduled repair times and call customers back when a job runs late.
  • Customer updates. Keep callers informed on parts arrival and work order status through the day.

What they're asking for

  • No experience needed. The employer trains the right person on the dispatch system and shop procedures.
  • Language. Functional French is required for calls with local customers; English at CLB 5 is expected.
  • Education. Secondary school diploma or equivalent is an asset but not required.
  • Availability. Must be able to work the posted schedule, including Saturday mornings during peak season.

What the employer offers

  • Pay premium. Evening and Saturday hours are paid at a higher rate than the base wage.
  • Gear. The employer provides a headset and any equipment needed at the desk.
  • Training leave. Paid time off for the first two weeks of onboarding and system training.
