About this role

Humber Valley Outfitters runs a small pharmacy counter alongside its outdoor gear shop in Ayr, Ontario. The store serves a steady local trade of families, cottagers and weekend travellers, and the pharmacy side is growing enough to need a second pair of hands at the counter.

The day runs between the till and the dispensary shelf. You will greet customers, take in prescriptions, count and label stock under a pharmacist's supervision, keep the shelves faced and the records tidy, and help close out the counter at the end of the shift.

What you'll be doing

  • Customer service. Greet customers at the pharmacy counter, take in prescriptions and answer basic questions or pass them to the pharmacist.
  • Stock handling. Count, label and shelve medication and front-shop stock, and flag anything running low to the pharmacist.
  • Records. Enter prescription and customer details into the pharmacy system accurately and file paperwork at the end of each shift.
  • Store upkeep. Keep the counter, dispensary shelves and waiting area clean, organized and ready for the next customer.

What they're asking for

  • No experience needed. Humber Valley Outfitters will train the right person on the counter and dispensary routines.
  • Education. Ontario secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Language. Comfortable reading and writing English at a working level for labels and records.
  • Availability. Able to work the posted schedule, including one weekend shift, and to stand for most of the day.

What the employer offers

  • Training. Paid onboarding on the pharmacy system and dispensary routines in the first two weeks.
  • Staff discount. Discount on store gear and outdoor clothing after three months.
  • Benefits. Extended health and dental coverage for permanent full-time staff.
