LMIA approved. This employer is approved to hire a foreign worker into this role, which is what lets a work permit be issued for it. It does not by itself make you eligible.

About this role

Corner Brook Accounting Group is a small accounting practice in Beaverton, Ontario, serving individuals and owner-operated businesses across Durham Region. We file personal and corporate returns, keep books for local trades and retailers, and handle payroll for a handful of small employers. The office runs on paper and software in equal measure, and this role keeps both moving.

A typical day starts with the phone and the inbox, then moves to filing, data entry, and preparing client documents for review. You will greet clients at the front desk, book appointments, and keep the filing system straight. Tax season is busy, so the pace picks up from February to April and settles again in the summer.

What you'll be doing

  • Front desk. Greet clients, answer the phone, and direct enquiries to the right accountant.
  • Records. File and scan client documents, keep the paper and digital systems matching, and handle confidential material carefully.
  • Data entry. Enter client information and receipts into bookkeeping software and check the entries for obvious errors.
  • Scheduling and supplies. Book appointments, confirm deadlines, and keep the office stocked and tidy.

What they're asking for

  • Education. Ontario secondary school diploma or equivalent; no post-secondary credential is required.
  • Experience. None required; we will train the right person on our filing and bookkeeping systems.
  • Software. Comfort with email, spreadsheets, and scanning; willingness to learn accounting software on the job.
  • Conditions. Criminal record check for work with client financial information; reliable attendance at our Beaverton office.

What the employer offers

  • Training. Paid onboarding on our filing system, bookkeeping software, and client confidentiality rules.
  • Overtime. Paid at time and a half during the February to April tax season.
  • Leave. Three weeks of vacation after the first year, plus statutory holidays.
