About this role

Almonte Woodworking Studio is a small custom furniture and millwork shop in Amherstview, Ontario, producing built-in cabinetry, tables and commercial fixtures. We are adding an Electrician to the shop team to handle the electrical side of our builds and the upkeep of the shop itself.

The day is spent between the bench and the shop floor. You will wire lighting and power into finished millwork, run circuits for new equipment, trace faults on machines and keep the panel schedules and inspection records current. Work is supervised at the start and you will be paired with a licensed electrician for anything that needs sign-off.

What you'll be doing

  • Millwork wiring. Install lighting, receptacles and switches into finished cabinetry and fixtures to drawing.
  • Shop circuits. Run and terminate power for saws, dust collection and other shop equipment.
  • Troubleshooting. Trace faults on machinery and lighting, and carry out repairs.
  • Records. Keep panel schedules, maintenance logs and inspection paperwork up to date.

What they're asking for

  • Certification. Registered electrical apprentice with the Ontario College of Trades, or willing to register before starting.
  • Experience. No prior trade experience needed; we train the right person on our equipment and methods.
  • Tickets. WHMIS and basic first aid, or willingness to complete both in the first month.
  • Conditions. Able to lift 50 lbs, work on ladders and stand for a full shift in a shop with wood dust and machinery noise.

What the employer offers

  • Pay progression. Wage review at three and twelve months, with a raise tied to apprenticeship level.
  • Tools and gear. Shop tools, safety glasses, hearing protection and a boot allowance provided.
  • Leave. Two weeks of paid vacation in the first year, plus statutory holidays.
