LMIA approved. This employer is approved to hire a foreign worker into this role, which is what lets a work permit be issued for it. It does not by itself make you eligible.

About this role

Avalon Electric & Controls is an electrical and controls contractor based in Aylmer, ON, and we are adding a dental assistant to support the clinical care our staff and their families rely on through our on-site health program. This is an entry-level role and we will train the right person.

The day runs alongside a single dentist and a hygienist: you set up and tear down operatories, hand instruments during exams and restorative work, take and process radiographs once certified, and keep records and sterilization logs current. Mornings are mostly hygiene and checkups, afternoons are fillings and the occasional urgent visit.

What you'll be doing

  • Chairside support. Seat patients, pass instruments and keep the operatory field clear during exams and restorative work.
  • Sterilization. Clean, bag and run instruments through the autoclave, and keep the daily spore and log records up to date.
  • Records. Chart treatment notes, file radiographs and confirm consent forms are signed before the dentist begins.
  • Room turnover. Set up trays for the next patient and restock supplies between appointments.

What they're asking for

  • Certification. Dental Assisting Level I and II from a recognized Ontario program, or willingness to complete Level II within twelve months of hire.
  • Experience. None required; new graduates and people changing careers are welcome to apply.
  • Tickets. Current CPR at the Health Care Provider level, and HARP certification for taking radiographs (or the ability to obtain it).
  • Conditions. Clear criminal record check and up-to-date immunization record before the first shift.

What the employer offers

  • Benefits. Group health and dental coverage after three months, with the dental portion fully paid by Avalon Electric & Controls.
  • Gear. Scrubs, masks, gloves and loupes supplied, replaced as they wear out.
  • Leave. Three weeks of vacation to start, plus paid sick days.
