LMIA approved. This employer is approved to hire a foreign worker into this role, which is what lets a work permit be issued for it. It does not by itself make you eligible.

About this role

Trois-Pistoles Charcuterie is a meat processing plant on the central coast of British Columbia, producing smoked and cured products for retail and wholesale customers. We are adding an entry-level IT support technician to keep the plant's computers, network and production systems running so that staff can do their jobs without interruption.

The day is spent on the floor and at the desk. You will respond to support tickets from office and plant staff, set up and configure new laptops and workstations, troubleshoot printers, handheld scanners and network connections, and keep a written record of what you fixed and how. When a problem needs a vendor or a specialist, you will gather the details and hand it off clearly. Full training on our systems is provided.

What you'll be doing

  • Technical support. Respond to staff tickets for hardware, software and account problems and see them through to resolution.
  • Equipment setup. Image, configure and deploy laptops, desktops, printers and handheld scanners for new and existing staff.
  • Network basics. Check cabling, switches and wireless access points and escalate faults to the service provider when needed.
  • Documentation. Keep an accurate log of issues, fixes and equipment assignments in the support system.

What they're asking for

  • Education. Completion of a certificate or diploma in information technology or a related field, or equivalent hands-on training.
  • Tickets and certification. No certification is required at hire; CompTIA A+ or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • Technical comfort. Familiarity with Windows, Microsoft 365 and basic networking concepts; willingness to learn our plant systems.
  • Conditions. Ability to work onsite in Bella Bella and move between office and production areas, including cooler conditions.

What the employer offers

  • Health coverage. Extended health and dental benefits after three months of employment.
  • Gear and training. A work laptop and phone are provided, along with paid time for vendor and certification training.
  • Relocation support. A moving allowance is available for the successful candidate relocating to Bella Bella.
