LMIA approved. This employer is approved to hire a foreign worker into this role, which is what lets a work permit be issued for it. It does not by itself make you eligible.

About this role

Okotoks Landscape Supply is a yard and retail counter serving homeowners, landscapers and contractors in the Balmoral area. We sell soil, mulch, stone, pavers and seasonal plants, and we load most orders by hand or with the yard forklift.

A typical day starts at the counter taking orders and answering questions about product coverage and delivery. You will pull and load orders in the yard, keep the display area tidy, price stock and help customers carry purchases to their vehicles. Expect to be on your feet, outdoors part of the day and working alongside the yard crew.

What you'll be doing

  • Customer service. Greet customers at the counter, answer product questions and help them choose the right soil, stone or plant for the job.
  • Order handling. Write up orders, take payment and arrange delivery or pickup times with the yard crew.
  • Yard work. Pull, bag and load orders by hand, and keep product displays stocked, priced and swept clean.
  • Stock checks. Count inventory at the end of the day and tell the supervisor when a product is running low.

What they're asking for

  • No experience needed. We will train the right person on products, pricing and loading.
  • Comfort with physical work. The job involves lifting up to 25 kg and working outdoors in all weather.
  • Reliable attendance. You need to get to the Balmoral yard for opening shifts, including Saturdays in season.
  • Basic math and cash handling. You will count change and balance a till at the end of your shift.

What the employer offers

  • Seasonal bonus. A end-of-season bonus is paid to staff who stay through the full spring and summer.
  • Gear provided. Steel-toe boots are supplied after three months, along with gloves and a company vest.
  • Staff discount. Employees get a discount on soil, mulch and plants for personal use.
