About this role
Kamsack Farm Supply runs a farm supply and equipment business in Belledune, New Brunswick, and we need someone to keep the computers and point-of-sale systems working. This is an entry-level role for someone starting out in the trade, and we will train the right person on our own setup.
A typical day is spent at the counter and in the back office: setting up new machines, fixing printers and scanners, helping staff through login and software problems, and keeping the network and tills running. You will log what you fixed, keep spare parts tidy, and flag anything that needs a replacement before it fails.
What you'll be doing
- Setup and installation. Set up new computers, monitors, printers and point-of-sale terminals and get them working with our existing systems.
- Troubleshooting. Work through hardware and software problems reported by staff, from a dead printer to a login that will not go through.
- Network support. Check cabling, routers and Wi-Fi so the office and sales floor stay connected through the day.
- Record keeping. Log repairs, parts used and recurring issues so we can track what is failing and plan replacements.
What they're asking for
- Certification. A college certificate or diploma in computer or network support is an asset; equivalent hands-on ability is accepted.
- Experience. No prior work experience is required; this posting is written for someone entering the trade.
- Tickets. A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to Belledune, as public transit does not reach the site.
- Conditions. Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 20 kg and to work around farm supply stock and dust.
What the employer offers
- Training. Paid on-the-job training on our point-of-sale, accounting and inventory systems.
- Gear. A work laptop, tools and any parts you need to do the job are provided.
- Leave. Two weeks of paid vacation in the first year, plus statutory holidays.
