LMIA approved. This employer is approved to hire a foreign worker into this role, which is what lets a work permit be issued for it. It does not by itself make you eligible.

About this role

Sault Fabrication Works runs a small staff house and guest lodging in Bay Bulls for workers and travellers passing through the Southern Shore. We are hiring a front desk clerk to greet guests, handle bookings and keep the front of house running smoothly.

The day is spent at the desk checking people in and out, answering the phone and email, taking payments and keeping the lobby and key area tidy. You will work with one other clerk and report to the house manager, and full training is given to someone new to the job.

What you'll be doing

  • Guest check-in. Welcome guests, confirm bookings and issue keys and room information.
  • Reservations. Take phone, email and walk-in bookings and record them in the front desk system.
  • Payments. Process room charges, deposits and refunds and balance the till at shift end.
  • Front of house. Keep the lobby, desk and key area clean and answer guest questions in person and by phone.

What they're asking for

  • Certification. None required; training is provided on site.
  • Experience. None required; this role is open to people entering the workforce.
  • Tickets. No tickets or licences are needed for this position.
  • Conditions. Must be able to work evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule and be legally entitled to work in Canada.

What the employer offers

  • Shift premium. Evening and weekend shifts carry an added premium on top of the base rate.
  • Meals. A free meal is provided on every shift worked.
  • Uniform. Work shirts are supplied and laundered by the employer.
