LMIA approved. This employer is approved to hire a foreign worker into this role, which is what lets a work permit be issued for it. It does not by itself make you eligible.

About this role

Brantford Machine & Tool runs a licensed on-site staff lounge and event space at its Bassano, Alberta location, serving the plant crew, visiting contractors and guests at company functions. The bar is a small, well-kept operation, and we are looking for an entry-level bartender to keep it running smoothly.

The day is spent behind the bar: pouring beer and liquor, mixing simple drinks, keeping the counter and glassware clean, checking ID, and restocking shelves between customers. You will cash out at the end of the shift and lock up alongside the shift lead.

What you'll be doing

  • Drink preparation. Pour beer, wine and spirits and mix standard cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks to order.
  • Service standards. Take orders, check ID, serve customers promptly and handle payment and change accurately.
  • Cleanliness. Wash glassware, wipe down the bar and equipment, and keep the service area tidy throughout the shift.
  • Inventory and closing. Restock coolers and shelves, record low stock, and help with end-of-shift cashout and lock-up.

What they're asking for

  • Certification. Must hold a valid Alberta ProServe certificate or be able to complete it before starting.
  • Experience. None required; this is an entry-level role and training is provided on site.
  • Availability. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and able to work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
  • Physical condition. Able to stand for a full shift and lift and carry cases of beverage up to 20 kg.

What the employer offers

  • Wage premium. Evening and weekend shifts carry a pay premium above the base rate.
  • Meals and breaks. A hot meal is provided on every shift, plus paid rest breaks.
  • Gear and leave. Uniform shirts and aprons are supplied, and paid vacation accrues from the first pay period.
